CeraCap is not a treatment for decay. It returns the chewing surface of a molar, worn down by strong biting, clenching at night or grinding, to its earlier shape.
Signs include molars that feel lower than before, front teeth that meet first when chewing, sensitivity without decay, and a face that looks shorter in photographs. Instead of covering the whole tooth like a crown, CeraCap covers about a third to two-thirds of it, so only the part needed for retention is trimmed. It is milled from the same ceramic block used for inlays and onlays.
